- Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)
- WPS is a document that specifies the information, compliances, and procedure necessary for welding works.
- Each Classification Society requires the approval to maintain continuity and consistency of welding quality.
- WPS should be fulfilled with the requirements from Class Rules and/or the international welding standards (ISO, ASME, AWS, IACS, etc.).
- MOVENA Korea offers tailored professional assistance for each customer to have the approval of WPS from each Classification Society.
- Welder's Certificate (WC)
- WC evaluates whether the welder recognizes the WPS and Welding according to the WPS.
- Welding works to the products installed on ships shall be carried out by welders approved from Classification Societies.
- Each Classification Society has its own Rules for welding and qualifying welders, and it may require to follow international standards (ISO, ASME, AWS, IACS, etc.).

- Welding Workshop Approval (WWA)
- Classification Societies require WWA for welding quality control to the manufacturers who supply the products made by welding works and installed to Ships.
- WWA is granted after the Class surveyor's checking the welding-related matters specified in Class Rules.
- WWA is achieved through document screening, on-site inspection, and the welding procedure in line with WPS and Rule requirements.

- Type Approval (TA)
- Classification Societies require the TA certificates for materials/components used to fire fighting, navigation, communication, etc. on board under their Rules and Regulations.
- When the manufacturers apply to TA, it is achieved through plan approval, environmental and functional tests by the attendance of Class surveyors.
- The preparation of TA requires well understanding and review for the Class Rules and Regulations including specific requirements for environmental tests at approved LAB

- Approval of Heat Treatment
- Various ship accidents occurred due to heat treatment problems, and as an improvement measure of this, some classification society requires to perform the approval of the heat treatment.
- The facility and procedure of the Heat Treatment should comply with the requirements of the Class Rules, and the approval is achieved through the document approval of the procedure and actual test in presence of Class Surveyor.

- Approval of Material & Components (AoM)
- Material & Components installed on ships should be certified from Classification Societies through plan approval and inspections at manufacturer's shops under the requirements of Class Rules.
